The L.I.F.E. Series is a transformative 3-month program designed primarily for Black women aged 50 and above but is open to all women who are ready to take control of their health, wealth, and well-being. We understand your journey because we’ve walked it ourselves, and want to help you find ways to prioritize your wellbeing in all aspects of your life.

As a key initiative of Asher Legacy Group, the L.I.F.E. Series Program was created to empower women to take control of their lives and defy the statistics. It is our mission to help women achieve minimal stress, enjoy exercise, make nutrition a priority, and establish healthy relationships since these are the pillars of healthy living and navigating with ease.

This is More Than Just a Wellness Program, this is a L.I.F.E. Transformation Program

We are creating a movement through this program. Our first cohort will consist of 50 remarkable women, who will help create this community of overall wellness and transformation.  Here, you’ll find the guidance, education, tools, knowledge, and sisterhood needed to transform your life. Whether managing existing health conditions or working to prevent them, the L.I.F.E. Series meets you exactly where you are.

Empowering Health and Wellness of Women 50+

Did you know that Black women face higher risks of diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension? Our founder experienced this herself at 50 years of age. Her story includes the need for high blood pressure medications, losing friends and community members through COVID and beyond, and losing older siblings to health issues that could have possibly prevented premature death.

But these statistics don’t have to be your story.

Financial Freedom is Part of Your Health

Your financial well-being matters just as much as your physical health. The stress of managing finances for everyday living expenses, plus saving and planning for the future is a burden many of us experience.  Taking from our Asher Wealth Program, we’ll incorporate workshops that teach about legacy planning so members are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to be prepared for the future.

A Community Where Sisterhood Meets Self-Improvement

As part of our program, you’ll be part of a powerful circle of women who understand your journey – the early morning obligations, the midnight worries, the daily juggle of family care with self-care. Together, we’re creating more than just a program; we’re building a sisterhood of support where every victory is celebrated, from taking that first fitness class to creating your first retirement plan. Share wisdom, find strength, and grow alongside women who, like you, are ready to transform lives. We’ll bring together experts and community partners to address your challenges, support you to meet your goals and cheer you on as your progress inspires others. This is where individual journeys become collective triumph.

We’re now accepting applications for our next group of 50 extraordinary women. This three-month program is offered at no cost to qualified participants, made possible through our partnership with MDHHS and other community partners and supporters.

FAQ

Who can participate in this program?

This program is open to women from all backgrounds, life stages, and ages. Our primary focus is on those 50+ because data shows these women are more likely to be caring for others, not prioritizing their health, wealth, and overall well-being.

Do I have to be over 50?

No, this program is open to women of any age. However, we do feel that most of the material and programs are best suited for those over 50 years of age to see the most impact on their life.

What is the time commitment for this program?

As part of a cohort or group in the program, you’ll be expected to attend:

  •  (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly meetings)
  • Fitness and wellness classes
  • Journal and track your meals
  • Agree to share your before & after stats for things like blood pressure, weight, financial situation, and things like that

 

The program runs for 3 months, so you’ll be expected to start and complete the program with others in your group.

Where are meetings and things held?

A generous community partner, (insert church name), is opening up their building, gym, and meeting rooms to host most of our meetings and programs.

What is the cost?

Due to grant funding, other supporters, partners, and donors, there is no cost to participants in the program.

Do I have to live in Grand Rapids?

While you do not have to live in Grand Rapids, the meetings and sessions are in-person, so travel will be required. As long as you’re able to attend the meetings and actively participate in person, you can apply and join.
